Played for a couple of hours Resident Evil Requiem last night and the game looks amazing. The character models and attention to detail is incredible. Grace’s section was quite tense and scary. Leon’s section was very action packed and badass.

How does the dual character stuff work? Do you play from.start to finish as one character, then start the other characters campaign?

Or does the game just swap between characters in one continuous story?

The 26'000 mah powerbank arrived.

Felt ridiculous snapping it on the Switch 2 via the magsafe ring. Strangely after 15 mins the weight faded into the background. Its thick but a compact size so strangely Switch 2s U shaped stand works perfectly even with this beast attached to the back.

I like that it also has a digital display rather than LED lights, showing you the exact charge left. The manual says not to charge in high temperatures. This thing better not explode in my pocket in 33 Celcius heat.

That Pokémon trailer looked pretty good?  If the graphics manage to match what they showed here, it'd be the first time in over a decade that the graphics aren't crap.

Sure, it might still not set any pants ablaze over at Digital Foundry, but it was a pleasant surprise nontheless.

^ With that kind of bulk I'm assuming you mostly play around the house?  I would have just got an extension cord and play wherever I want with the Switch2 plugged in.

Paramount is on the verge of victory in the Warner Bros bidding process as Netflix pulls out

27.02.26 - In the bidding process for Warner Bros., a success for Paramount is emerging. Yesterday, Netflix announced that it would not increase its offer any further. This makes Paramount the most promising buyer of the traditional studio.

Netflix said Warner Bros. considers Paramount's latest Skydance offer to be superior. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the offer provides for a purchase price of USD 31.00 per WBD share. In addition, there will be a quarterly fee of USD 0.25 per day from 30/09/26 and a compensation payment of USD 7 billion if the transaction fails for regulatory reasons.

Netflix emphasized that the negotiated structure would have created value for shareholders and opened up a clear path to approval. At the asking price, however, the takeover is no longer financially attractive

Updated PSSR upscaler coming to PS5 Pro

27.02.26 - Sony is introducing a revamped PSSR version for the PS5 Pro, which will first be used by Resident Evil: Requiem (PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PC).

PlayStation Lead Architect Mark Cerny announced the update, which is set to roll out globally to PS5 Pro players in the coming weeks.

PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) is an AI library that analyzes and upscales individual image pixels. She has played in more than 50 games so far. Capcom reports that the new PSSR enables more detailed representation, such as polygon-based hair and more realistic lighting effects, and processes complex structures better than before.

Technologically, the solution is based on the "Project Amethyst" partnership with AMD, incorporating elements of FSR-4 upscaling technology. Sony announced that it will provide more game updates and a system software update in March - then PS5 Pro players will be able to enable the "Enhance PSSR Image Quality" option.

The changes are supposed to noticeably increase the image quality, but at the same time take frame rate and performance into account. Manufacturers and developers promise to roll out the innovations step by step in the next few weeks so that existing games benefit from the improved PSSR. Sony plans to announce details about other games and the exact schedule in March.

Peter Moore: "All studios will use artificial intelligence"

27.02.26 - Peter Moore, former manager at Sega, Xbox and Electronic Arts, has commented on the appointment of Asha Sharma to the top of Microsoft Gaming. He told GamesBeat that many dedicated gamers are currently skeptical about artificial intelligence. They see it as a convenient or automated form of game development.

However, Moore emphasized that the industry has been using various forms of AI for decades. From his point of view, all studios will use corresponding technologies in the future. It is crucial that AI serves the player and not just business indicators. Sharma must credibly convey this perspective.

At the same time, Moore referred to the sharp increase in development costs of large productions. Hundreds or even thousands of people worked on individual games. AI could help to make processes more efficient and possibly develop games faster and more cost-effectively. According to Moore, Sharma now has the chance to mediate between technology and the player base

Sony could stop the release of single-player titles on PC

26.02.26 - Sony is apparently considering a strategic realignment of PC releases. According to information from Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, expressed in the Triple Click Podcast and distributed via ResetEra, Sony is apparently thinking about no longer making classic single-player titles available for PC in the future.

Instead, live service games in particular could appear across platforms. Multiplayer and service formats can be monetized in the long term and appeal to a wider audience,

and Schreier thinks it is possible that games like Marvel's Wolverine will remain exclusively available on consoles for the foreseeable future. PC versions have always been released at intervals anyway. He left open whether the previous publications have been economically convincing. In his view, a return to a more console-focused orientation would not mean a serious cut. He plans to provide further information shortly.

Now I'm playing with power!

Also the compact size means my fingers dont even touch it when playing handheld.

But yeah it's hilarious.

Still ridiculous they release 1080p trailers. Water looked great.

I have two adapters that work with Switch 2.

But upstairs the usb power multi adapter doesn't output at a high enough level to charge and play and I dont like having a cable tying me down. I always appreciate when I can play and charge, walk upstairs for a dump and still be charging.

I do have two slim, light 5000 mah magsafe PD 20w powerbanks which are much easier to use, but I wanted a bigger battery I can chuck in a bag for limitless power.

This thing can charge 5 devices at the same time. It can charge switch 2, around 4 to 5 times over.

A lot of powerbanks don't even work on Switch 2, they have to have 20w PD (power delivery) USB c output.

Also it fast charges my phone, I have a folding phone. So I can download stuff from Netflix and watch it on my big screen, now with a battery that never dies and a built in stand.

Thanks to Apple offering Samsung the over inflated price (as a negotiation tactic)

The price of the RAM used in Switch 2 will now cost twice as much.

Sony Files Patent To Help You Recall Controls And Story Events In Games After Long Breaks

The patent outlines situations when users forget game controls and goals after returning from a long break, and how Sony aims to deal with the problem. According to the system outlined in the patent, Sony would effectively monitor user inputs to determine whether a player needs assistance and the type of assistance to be provided. For instance, the system could identify the player's inputs to determine the most suitable "moves or skills" that would help the player progress to a new level.

Even more interesting is the fact that Sony says this patent could be used to provide assistance in the form of story points and context that users may need to understand the game. This assistance could come in the form of text, images, and even videos. According to the patent, Sony intends to use AI to read user inputs and determine when players seem lost or uncertain in a game.

Currently it just shifts back and forth between Grace and Leon as one continuous story.

I've been playing Super Mario Land (GB/NSO) today. I swear this came from an alternate universe. It's such an odd Mario game. Koopa shells that explode, fire flower shots that bounce into the stratosphere, horizontal shooter levels. Madness. It's still a lot of fun. I wish the controls weren't so stiff, though. Stiff controls seems to be common on GB games.

That bit in a game where it teaches you the controls in an easy way should be available from the pause menu at all times.

Damn it.

Not just a controls image.

I've been streaming the fan colored version, Super Mario Land DX, and the controls really are rough as hell. It was one of those first generation game Boy games, so you have to give them a little Grace. Super Mario Land 2. Improve the controls, but even there it's still far from good.
