People seem to think that the market is so stupid it can't grasp the concept of a follow up system being called "whatever" 2.

Because Wii U flopped, cause of the name. People didn't understand it was a new system. Would have sold better if it was called wii 2?

Maybe a little but what's the problem with Nintendo calling a sequel system 2?

Superior is total horseshit.

Nothing could help the Wii U. Confusing name and I think the Upad hurt it a lot with people. I remember my sister being kinda interested in it when I told her about it. That quickly changed when I showed her the Upad. "WTH? No. No way!" she said. LOL

The only company with worse console names is MS. The Xbox name is fine, but they lost it ever since.

I think if Nintendo had positioned the Wii U as a Nintendo DS that you could use with your TV, I think they might have had something. They would have had to change their approach to a lot of the software, since the touchpad rarely did anything important for most of their games, other than show a map.

I think the console was doomed no matter what, but I think they could have struggled to a more respectable level of failure.

I think too for children, who were already using tablets which they can take anywhere and still use them were baffled that they were given a tablet to use (Wii U) and then it only worked within a small range. I know the kids who tried the Wii U at my place were like -- what sort of baby toy is this?

What I've been playing this week:

Finished A Plague Tale Innocence https://gameunder.net/http/gameunderlibsyncom/rss/2024/9/12/game-under-podcast-160

Started A Plague Tale: Requiem (Thanks for the code Foolz)

Started You Suck at Parking (on sale on steam for $6, demo also avilable)

Slay the Spire

Played Thank Goodness You're Here with my daughter (third playthrough)

Desert Child (Don't bother)

Strongly considered buying Disneyland Adventures for my daughter (from Asobo, the makers of A Plague Tale and MS Flight Sim).

We don't have an encrypted site so some Wi-Fi's will block it.

For me, this weekend has been mostly about Atari 7800:Commando, Dig Dug,and Galaga.

Also played some Road rash 1 (Sega Genesis) and GT1 (PS1).

I still own a composite modded 7800, but I've been playing it on Retroarch PC, so I can use my 8bitdo arcade stick.

No, the blocker listed the site as "video games." Apparently Home Depot doesn't want you goofing around on video game sites.

"PSVR2 Going Wireless That's the baffling speculation."

I can't imagine this being true, but this gen Sony likes to release expensive hardware with minimal support, so who knows?

The only thing I can imagine Sony doing with their PSVR's from here on out is pushing them into a landfill.
