I guess I have been STARVED for a City Building game for a while and never even realized it!

Eurocom, the longstanding UK studio most recently responsible for the Activision title 007 Legends, has undergone a wide-ranging redundancy operation.



Studio director Hugh Binns told GamesIndustry International that just fifty staff would remain at the company.

"Eurocom are undertaking a restructuring which I regret to say has meant we've made the majority of our workforce redundant today," his statement read.



"This includes many very experienced, talented and highly skilled employees, and we'd like to thank them all for your hard work and efforts."



Binns suggested that it was the "steep decline in demand for console games" that had resulted in the studio losing out on a number of potential deals with publishers.

"Eurocom has retained a core staff of just under 50 employees and will be focusing mainly on mobile opportunities moving forward," he added.



Established in 1988, Derby, UK-based studio employs hundreds of staff. In the last few years it has focused mainly on Bond games, but it has also been credited on titles in the Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Dead Space and Duke Nukem franchises.

Eurocom becomes a mobile developer, lays off majority of staff.

Well there's a shock. Got to say if it's not available for the Wii U, someone will need their head examined. Totally perfect fit for the touchscreen pad.

It doesn't use the touchscreen to great effect but the gyro aiming is sweet. Really there is no need for a U or HD version, if you own it already you can turn off the 3D and the aliasing kicks in. It already looks like a decent 360 game. I doubt Capcom will upgrade the visuals but they might add a chapter.

I'm referring to using the pad for the room scanning. With a few tweaks (adding a few extra zombies or whatever they were) I think they could kind of pull off the "will I be killed while I scan this object" feel that Zombie U has.

Not sure Capcom is imaginative enough with a port to do something like that. The enemies are bullet sponges here like the old games, more of them would just bog things down.

Now we need Uncharted Golden Abyss on PS3. Make it happen, Sony!
