60fps is fine for most action games. However, if you're into competitive gaming, the higher the frame rate, the lower input the latency, which can make the difference between making the kill or being killed.
I tried out 120fps games on my PC and PS5 after I got my OLED. The perceived motion smoothness is subtle between 60 and 120. However, playing a game like Resident Evil 3 Remake at 120 versus 60, the joystick aiming at 120 feels so much more accurate and closer to a mouse in precision. Headshots, for instance, became much, much easier to pull off at 120 with a gamepad.
Some say 30fps is just fine gaming. And that may be true, but it does depend on frame pacing for action games. Forza Motorsport 8 on my Xbox Series S at 30fps looks and feels quite good, because it has consistent frame pacing. However, Oblivion Remastered on PS5 at 30fps looks juddery and awful due to its notoriously inconsistent frame pacing. Oblivion Remastered gives me a headache at 30fps; Forza 8 does not. Gaming at 30fps has significantly higher input latency, but is made even worse with inconsistent frame pacing.
Unfortunately, a lot of modern games running at 30fps have poor frame pacing because devs either aren't taking the time to ensure their game is properly optimized, or it's an issue with the engine. Unreal Engine has a lot of issues with frame pricing at lower FPS and in turn makes input latency worse.
So Nintendo is suing the US Government for the anount of money lost due to tariffs plus interest.

Good on them. If anyone has the expertise to pull this off, it'll be Nintendo. 😅I wonder once the tariffs really go away, in like another 6 months or so, if Nintendo will finally consider lowering the price of the switch.
