CD Projekt Red confirms six-year release schedule for new Witcher trilogy
30.11.25 - CD Projekt Red confirms the schedule for the next three parts of the Witcher series in an earnings announcement at the end of November 2025. This is reported by Gamerant.
CD Projekt Red plans to release the announced trilogy within six years. This specification dates back to October 2022, when the studio stated that a new role-playing game series was to be created that would focus on an older Ciri.
The first part (The Witcher 4) has the working title Project Polaris and, like the other games, is based on Unreal Engine 5. According to the announcement, The Witcher 4 has been in the main production phase since November 2024, which is why a possible market launch towards the end of 2027 is considered realistic.
Michal Nowakowski emphasized that all three games will each receive about three years of development time. He held out the prospect that the studio wants to speed up the processes after the release of the first part. The approach envisages fully using the production pipeline of Unreal Engine 5 to take over processes and selected content. Additional efficiency gains such as the partial reuse of cards were mentioned, but are not confirmed, according to the information.
11/30/25 - Capcom is reportedly working on a new Dead Rising game with the return of protagonist Frank West, according to MP1ST.com. The report is partially confirmed by VGC.
It is a new main part, not a remaster or remake. The plot is said to take place mainly on a large, closed film studio lot in Hollywood, where an antagonist forces survivors to deadly tests in order to shoot his "perfect film". Capcom has not confirmed the information.
They both said fifty when I checked this morning.
On sale?I havent been paying attention, it did come out not too long ago I guess.
Damn, Metroid Prime 4 is getting either 8 and 9s out of 10, or 3 stars out of 5, 6/10 reviews
They say the HDR is one of the best uses in the industry apparently (havent watched it yet)
Damnit do I have to start HDR fiddling again?
Yeah, seems a bit mixed on the Metroid Prime 4 reviews. Still looking forward to getting this in a couple of days myself though.
Sounds like Prime 4 will have a lot of similarities to Prime 3 with pacing issues and unnecessary elements. If the core gameplay is good and scratches that Metroid itch then I will be more than happy. I just hope the npcs are not that annoying. Funny, its the new additions that most reviewers tend to dislike like Retro would've bern better off just Copying Prime 1
I never understood this general sentiment from some gamers that the OG was so great and 2 and 3 were "bad" or less worthy.
MP2's dark World sucked and ruined the game for me.
MP3 I just remember getting bored with it at some point and quitting. I'd like to give that one another try, but I likely won't unless Nintendo remasters it.

03.12.25 - Eidos Montreal has cut jobs again. Several former employees reported in recent days that they are no longer working for the studio. At least a dozen people are affected.
The studio had already laid off 75 employees in March, according to a statement at the time due to expiring project orders. According to several sources, numerous projects have now been discontinued.
Eidos Montreal is focused on working with Microsoft and Xbox, including Grounded 2 and Fable. In addition, there is an internal project from 2019, the costs of which, according to sources, can no longer be recouped. Further job cuts are expected for the period after completion of this work
03.12.25 - According to several CVs of former employees, Eidos Montreal has canceled a dark fantasy action game that was supposed to revisit a well-known vampire brand.
The clues come from profiles of a gameplay director and an associate design director, who report job cuts and state that several projects have been terminated.
From the description, it is clear that the game in question was intended to continue an established series, suggesting Legacy of Kain, without the studio explicitly confirming the title
12/02/25 - Ron Gilbert is ending the development of his Zelda-like 2D RPG after he failed to receive viable funding despite intensive talks. This is reported by Eurogamer.
He says that offered contracts were economically unattractive and publishers currently classify a pixel-based action role-playing game as not very profitable. Gilbert points to the high resource requirements of an open role-playing project and emphasizes that he has neither the means nor the time to implement such a project on his own.
He also does not currently consider crowdfunding to be a reliable option, as corresponding platforms such as Kickstarter have lost much of their effectiveness: In his estimation, the industry is increasingly oriented towards data-driven business models, which leads to more standardized production
Pretty good reviews for Octopath Traveler 0. I’ll be picking that up tomorrow along with Metroid Prime 4.
