Pokemon red at $20 is out of order. I really don't like the Pokemon company.

I dont get why it's this 33% owned mix of 3 companies and no one can give gamefreak the massive kick up the ass it's needed for decades.

I can tell you why. Gamefreak makes relatively low budget games that sell around 10 million copies every single time they get released. They could up the production, but that will just increase the budget and at the end of the day it probably wouldn't increase the sales. If they ever release a pokémon game that bombs, they might alter course. Until then, from a business perspective, it wouldn't make sense to change the way everything works.

Wow. Phil Spencer is retiring as of February 23 and Sarah Bond is leaving. Major shake up for Xbox.

Well, after receiving my Dispatch refund I've just installed Steam on my Surface Pro 9.  I don't think I've logged into steam for at least 8 years.  Found out there's a Dispatch demo available, which is great because I'm doubtful that my Surface Pro will be able to properly run the game.  If not at least I have about 100 decade old yet still great games at my disposal that I never got around to playing before.

Not surprising. Neither had any real power over Xbox once the Eye of Nadella looked upon them.

Yeah, I kind of feel that’s the reason as well. Things seem to have gotten much stricter for the Xbox division over the last little while.

I've been playing Call of Juarez.

I would only play this game with gyro, it virtually feels like a light gun game in a good way. It's somewhat restrictive but laser focused on the actual gun fights over exploration.

Also continuing with Ace Prosecutor 2.

This weekend I've been playing GB games: Kirby's Dream Land and Castlevania Legends. I've never played CV Legends before; I like it, but the controls are really stiff, though. Trying to jump on a rope, I failed to grap it about 75% of the time; I had to use NSOs rewind feature to practice it over and over and I still miss it sometimes. Otherwise it's a decently fun game so far.

I cant decide whether to buy the Resident Evil Generation pack.

I'm not a huge fan of first person horror so Re7... err.

Unsure. Plus Capcom haven't shown any footage of re7 or village, there's no info on gyro controls or how well the ports run.

And I wasn't really impressed by the way Pragmata looked in the demo.

I streamed my way through Super Mario Land 2 DX. I prefer the original, but this isn't half bad. I also started Snoopy's Grand Adventure, that's actually a halfway decent platformer. I bought the game a month or two ago from GameStop, but by the time I got around to testing it, I found out that the disc was corrupted, and it was past the 10-day return policy that GameStop has. Screw those guys. But, one of my viewers actually rebought and sent me the game. So as a thank you I figured I'd stream it.

Oh yeah, and playing a bunch of hearthstone in between. Probably going to put that away again by the end of this week, and then finally dive into something like Alan Wake 2.

This weekend I played a bit of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on the Switch 2. Bought the upgrade pack. It does look and play quite well.

Also played some Demon’s Souls on the PS5 in honour of Bluepoint. They did a fantastic job with this remake.

Played a bit of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on the XSX as well.

I played some more Wavetale and MKWorld and started Split Fiction with my son who has been really wanting to play it ever since it released on Switch2.  It's these high quality 3rd person games that best show off the technical power of the Switch2 and what a huge leap forward it is over the original Switch.

We also took our eldest to his first concert.  We went to see Amy McDonald of which he is a huge fan.  Apparently she's not known at all in the USA?

As suspected Re7 on switch 2 is 1080p 60fps docked and 900p 60fps handheld.

The ps4 version was 1080p 60fps. Why is there no real bump considering switch 2 which can produce better than ps4 pro visuals?

PS4 Pro Difference: The PS4 Pro version runs at a higher, improved resolution (roughly 1620p-1800p) while also targeting 60 FPS.

The tiny difference in resolution between handheld and docked is always super suspicious as it means they arent really pushing docked in any real way. And more modern games are higher resolution on switch 2.

Game looks soft to me, DLSS should be doing a better job.

Now I have to check out Village comparisons.
