REVIEW: Doom Dark Ages
8/10 "a fun and flashy shooter stuffed with engaging content - it's a thrill-ride from beginning to end. "thesixthaxis.com impressions aspro
I had high hopes for the Blue Prince, but wasn't aware that it involved repetitious tedious small puzzles in the rooms. I would have been content if linking rooms was all there was to it. Also, I really don't like the artstyle. It looks like it was drawn in sketchup, making it look like work to me.
Yeah, I was really surprised by Foolz's impressions.

Sounds like something I should listen too. I just finished the main quest of Blue Prince and still doing the extra stuff and I have my issues with the game but overall it is great. The RNG though really holds it back, it could have been in the upper tier of puzzle games. That said there really isnt repetitive puzzles in the rooms outside like two rooms, what it is is trying to solve multiple puzzles that involve observing or interating with certain things across many different rooms and just hoping RNG lets you get what you need.
I'm a bit skeptical that we've seen no gameplay. I almost don't believe the graphics will look like that in gameplay. Like the Yakuza 0 cutscenes vs gameplay.
I'm still amazed that Scottish developers are.so good at making games that on the surface feel very American. At least their British humour is satirical.
Rockstar never gives BS shots. The angles are obviously specifically picked but its real time and had plenty of gameplay. That trailer is mind blowing. Leaps and bounds ahead of anything graphically. It looks like a game from 5-10 years from now.
Who's playing Expedition 33? Masterpiece of a game, I think the best turn based combat system ever put in a JRPG style game. It really feels every bit as good as a big budget FF game. A must play for any fans of that style of game.

I saw your response to a guy on Resetera who questioned the big booties in the game trailer . Vader was like "Thats the most accurate part." Lol

Real time to me isn't in engine cutscenes. It's actual gameplay from the same viewpoint you use in the game, walking, driving, shooting or whatever.
Like you said it looks like a game so far ahead of all other games, that's precisely why it's hard to believe. Maybe they just have the budget and time to put so much detail into every nook and cranny.

And all it takes is a decade and a limitless budget!

I am and the game is fantastic. Still in Act 2 but so far this is my GotY. Looks gorgeous, has an amazing soundtrack, really fun and engaging gameplay, cool story, well written, and well voice acted.
Nintendolife is doing this web cast, they are saying that Switch 2 gameshare doesn't have other consoles download a small data packet or portion of a game.
They are saying that from an interview, but they don't seem certain - that when using gameshare one Switch 2 runs everything and it beams out the game in video form like the Wii U gamepad technology.

Up until this trailer I've avoided anything GTA6 related just because it's so far out I really was not interested. But that trailer looked great. It gave me the sense that GTA6 is a video-game ass video game. And yeah, it looks great. The poly counts for "cut scenes" will be higher than gameplay, it always is, but I don't care -- it looks fun. Almost makes me want to play GTA5 again, which I have not touched since it launched on PS3!
That's how I always assumed it to work. How else could you share to an original Switch?
But that means no asymmetrical gameplay. One switch 2 would have to beam out the same screen to multiple Switch's. Shouldn't this only work for very simple games?
Why would it be limited to simple games? It's fundamentally no different from couch co-op where one console is rendering the game twice. I play Borderlands2 with my son on the Xbone. The console is essentially running the game twice. In case of gameshare the Switch2 could render 2 720p images, show one on the own screen and beam the other to the client Switch. Downside will probably be battery life though, constantly streaming video is power hungry.

It seems to stream to multiple switch 2s at the same time. Then the same control switch 2 would have to process the controller inputs of all the other devices and co ordinate them.
And what resolution or frame rate would the gameshare screens display?
Rendering two 720p images would mean Switch 2 would have to have the overhead to do 1440p which is feasible but gameshare seems to link up to 8 consoles at once.
Dring:"Certain developers and publishers have spoken to me saying they're baffled by Xbox's new strategy and they wonder why make an Xbox version"
That's the main guy from Games industry.biz
So 3rd parties are going to slow or stop making Xbox versions of games because Microsoft is putting their games on multiple platforms?
I'm guessing the thinking is that people won't buy MS platforms as now you can get either Sony + MS games on PlayStation or Nintendo + MS games on Switch.
So what's the point of buying an Xbox? I've seen that sentiment online. So 3rd parties think Xbox platforms won't sell well and so why do an Xbox version?
Nintendo Switch 2's huge third-party support is something "we haven't seen" from Nintendo "maybe ever, but at least for a long time, maybe even since the GameCube," analyst says
The old adage is that people buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games. But the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct made a huge statement about third-party titles right out the gate, announcing the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring, as well as a brand new exclusive from FromSoftware, The Duskbloods. So GamesRadar+ asked industry analyst Mat Piscatella about how supporting third parties could affect Nintendo Switch 2.
"Historically, Nintendo products get purchased to play Nintendo games, and Nintendo platforms aren't the first place people look to play third-party content if they have other ways of accessing that content," Piscatella tells us, adding, "Perhaps that changes here because of that support and because of the hybrid nature of the device.
"Maybe we see that start to change this time."
Former Nintendo marketing leads say the Wii U flopped so bad that getting third-party support on Switch was "really hard," but the Switch 2 marks a new era: "There's no more proving yourself"
"If it can run on Steam Deck, it can probably run on Switch 2": Ex Nintendo marketing leads say Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring prove there's a market for big AAA games on Switch 2
Xbox is bringing more of its games to rival platforms is "a big benefit that Nintendo didn't really have in the last generation" that the Switch 2 will have, says ex-marketing lead
Regardless of how things go, he thinks "it's gonna be super interesting to watch, because we haven't seen this level of support, maybe ever, but at least for a long time – maybe even since the GameCube."
Piscatella continues to say that, "in terms of that third-party partnership approach… that's not something that Nintendo had really pushed so much with prior launches."
He guesses that mouse support opens up other types of games to be supported on Nintendo consoles, and that Nintendo might be "trying to kind of lean over between what a Steam Deck or a PC platform could do, and what a console platform could do."
Considering the original Nintendo Switch launch lineup didn't even include the known console-launch standby Ubisoft (outside of Just Dance 2017), which even heavily supported the Wii-U at launch, it's impressive that the Switch 2 is getting genuine third-party blockbusters.

They added "Sorry".
Wow, I just deleted it again.
Something funky going on at gamesradar. I even tested the link and it worked before.
There.
