I got Star Wars Outlaws and Hitman as GKCs.

It didn't bother me at first, but as my storage size dwindled, Hitmans absurdly huge file size became a pain in the ass.

Then I started playing Animal Crossing and Ace Prosecutor 2 on physical media. And I realised I could have that in to play and still play other digital games without having to switch carts out.

I cant decide whether to get the Resident Evil generation pack. Not sure I want to have to swap out cards and redownload games. At least with a physical cartridge the data is mostly all there. With gkcs in the future I'll still have to put a cart in and have to redownload the game again.

Might as well get digital. But I got re4, 5 and 6 for like £7 each on switch.

If you divide the generation pack by 3 its fair but still higher than I imagine those games will go for in the future.

Now some eagle eyed Resetera guy has found the small text saying the generation pack will be discontinued on the eshop end of March.

And if you choose to get separated re7 is £35 and Village is £45.

Ah...

Indie World Time!

Woodo seems... nice?  I'm getting so old.  indecision

Rotwood seems cool too.  a 2.5D brawler from the Don't Starve team.  Gogo local co-op!

so far it's pretty good, not much in the way of filler.  Most games seem like something I'd like to play.

And it's over.  Blue Prince releases on Switch today.  Not sure if it's something I'd want to play, but if so I'd play it on Switch.

Yeah GameKeyCards seem to be the worst of both world.  Their only usecase is that they can be sold on.  And you get a box to put on your shelf, if you're into that kind of thing.

I wonder what their resale value is? I doubt it would be much.

You can lend them out I guess with no time limits.

Another thing that worries me. At first I thought I would buy GKCs, then sell and rebuy the same game digital on sale.

But now I'm wondering what the resale value is on them. Digital games drop so quickly these days.

So you know the gold points on the Nintendo eshop are gone right? You used to be able to get 10% back in points and given the low price of some indie games you could nab an extra game or two just using points.

But now I've learned if you buy your credit and certain places they get a 10% kickback from Nintendo and they give you half of it in cash back. That's held in a balance which you can use to buy more using the site, or literally just withdraw it.

In the UK there's an app called Jam Doughnut.

Worldwide there's this site called Top cash back. And this cash back covers all sorts of retailers so you can save every where.

"Flossie (born 29 December 1995) is the oldest living verified cat (as of December 2025), at 30 years."

A cat named Creme Puff lived to be 38 years old, verified.

"Bobi was a Rafeiro do Alentejo dog from Portugal who was recognized by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the oldest dog ever, reportedly living to be 31 years and 165 days old before his death in October 2023."

Didn't you get her shortly after a car accident?  She has been quite a good friend.

Shortly before. My accident was in late June 2017. She's my best friend.

Change of strategy: Sony withdraws PlayStation games from PC
04.03.26 - Sony Group Corp. is no longer planning PC conversions of major PlayStation 5 games, according to people familiar with the strategy. This is reported by the business service Bloomberg.

The move marks a return to console exclusivity after six years of multi-platform releases. In the future, single-player games such as Ghost of Yotei and the announced Saros will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5. Online titles such as Marathon remain available across platforms.

Two games developed by external studios but published by PlayStation, Death Stranding 2 and Kena: Scars of Kosmora, are still set to release on PC this year. A spokesman did not comment.

The reasons are weak sales of several PC versions as well as internal concerns that the brand could suffer and hardware sales could be affected. Since 2020, Sony had brought numerous brands to PCs via Steam, including God of War and The Last of Us. However, the publications were inconsistent in terms of time. Competitors are pursuing different models: Nintendo relies on exclusivity, Microsoft publishes across platforms.

Over 5 million Resident Evil: Requiem sold

04.03.26 - Capcom announces that more than 5 million units of Resident Evil: Requiem (PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PC) have now been sold worldwide. The game was released on 02/27/26.

Pokopia is the highest reviewed game on metacritic this year wtf?

It's got eleven 10/10 reviews

GamingBible

There’s no one reason why Pokémon Pokopia is so special; this game is a sum of its parts, without a single weak link in the chain. It’s a title that offers a unique spin on the cosy formula, made all the more magical by the familiarity of this wonderful franchise. Pokémon Pokopia is a true adventure that boasts a refreshing sense of freedom. Totally devoid of grind, this experience rewards the curious with heaps of content on offer. You’ll be hard pressed to put it down, and it's certainly a title that we’ll all be discussing when this year’s GOTY discussion rolls around.
