So have any of you pondered how AI could improve gameplay in conjunction with a mic?
I've often talked to characters in RPGs and been mildly annoyed at the canned and limited set of questions you can ask them.
What if each character used AI and you could just talk to them via an app?
It would flesh out the world and make things feel more real.
I think however voice recognition needs to improve as it currently misheard words, and you have to repeat yourself a lot.
I would find that terrible myself. Would find it kind of annoying talking to characters in a video game and would feel awkward to me. Would be especially annoying in an RPG with all those characters to talk to.
Would also be really weird to play it out in public as well. Yeah, no thanks.

I agree with Archie. I have no desire to do that. Would be creepy too like that Milo Kinect demo video.
I’d say that I’m somewhere in the middle. It’s not really about that though. Actual talking as a method of gameplay isn’t really something that I want to do. Would interrupt with me eating Cheetos and drinking Mountain Dew.
All I want from AI in video games are more believable computer opponents. Nothing more immersion breaking than sneaking up on two dudes standing next to each other, knocking out one them, and the other one just stands there. We've been seeing this for 30 years now.
Gran Turismo 7 has been slowly incorporating Sophy AI model opponents into some of the race tracks and it's a big step up from GT7's standard computer opponents. Sadly, these are only for one off races, and not career.
GG, give me your Hogwarts Legacy impressions. I never finished it so I look forward to diving into the game again.
Will do when I start it. Need to polish off Cyberpunk then DK Bananza. So I'll probably just test it out first.
My secondary school was very much like a Hogwarts experience minus the magic. It was this old Elizabethan building and we were all in blazers with strict teachers.
So, anyone pumped for Hollow Knight Silksong? Years in the making, hype level skyrocketing and it's finally nearly here. 4th of september! Whoooo!
Anyhow, I probably won't be getting it immediately. I've got plenty of stuff to play as is, but am definitely looking forward to playing it in due time.
I beat Bananza yesterday. I heard complaints about how the game was too easy, so I hardly upgraded anything during my playthrough. Played through the whole game with 3 hearts and only one apple container, effectively making most bosses and even enemies one hit kill you. And even then I breezed through it. Only the final boss gave me some real trouble to the point where I was contemplating finally upgrading some health, but I managed to beat him in the end. Now on to the post game content!

Not sure but there was a pretty good amount of stuff that struck my fancy.
Those were some of the standouts for me. Others I’m probably forgetting.

Are you guys introverted?
Think of the fun this could lead to.

Gg, do you want to talk sex with them?
The stink eye would make me laugh.
Imagine if the AI led to totally unique outcomes though, that other players wouldn't get?
I wouldn’t want to be that guy on the bus/train trying to chat up that NPC in the latest BioWare game to get them in a romance quest line.

Then it would backfire at the wedding when the ladies ex shows up and kills Garth.
The grannies might be into it or start screaming at you.
People in the village might start whispering about you. Calling you pervert. Denying you a seat at the village tavern.
Then you have to take out the tavern owner and take up ownership of the tavern.
Classic Elder Scrolls.
