Late Merry Christmas! When I was a kid I would get game consoles, loads of new games, cool toys.

Now I get a vacuum cleaner. I need one so it's cool.

I was excited because I received a new lamp.

That reminds me. I need a new reading lamp. I received some Christmas cards and cash, so I'll have to buy one soon.

I've had to instate rules that prevent the giving of usefull gifts.  It went so far as to my wife getting me things for the house she thought we needed.  I retaliated one year by getting her only usefull gifts myself.  Curiously, that didn't go down well.

One thing I don't like about survival horror games: They make me into an item conservation nut. I keep reloading saves so I can go through the same area several times in an attempt to use the least amount of bullets and/or health pickups. It gets annoying after a while. Sad

I bought a new Surface Pro9 during a black friday sale and am installing all the software I need to use it professionally over the holiday.  I remember when I got my first surface pro I was all giddy with the potential.  Now I just shudder at the thought of what software problems I'll encounter.  And encounter them I did.  I can't transfer my autocad license (although that was to be expected as autodesk plain told me that they wouldn't allow it anymore 3 years back) and now Sketchup doesn't show my mouse pointer.  It appears stuck behind the sketchup window.  Hrm

I knew it was a smart move to only start moving to the new surface during the holidays, but it still sucks.  Sometimes I wish I'd work at a big firm where all of this was some IT guy's problem.

I enjoy watching these old news reports on early video games. My childhood in a nutshell. Love this era of gaming.

I have an unfortunate problem. I have encountered a game breaking bug in Lost Judgement at around the 75% completed portion of story. No early saves to go back to either. From what I've looked up, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options for me other than either restart or quit all together. I have today, this is not going to go down in history as the best 30 hours I've invested in a game.

That sucks. Kind of surprised that it wasn’t something that was fixed by now.

If you don't have enough ammo and health to supply a small army to destroy a small nation at the end, you played it wrong.

I spend a lot of time on different game forums, and from what I can see, the game was definitely buggy as hell. It does seem like most of it has been addressed, but I guess I was lucky enough to find a less common one.

Sorry to hear, Robio. Losing 30 hours of progress is awful! Sad

I don't recall losing any progress due to a game breaking bug but I have lost a lot of saves due to file corruption, especially those blasted memory cards 20+ years ago. My official Nintendo-made GCN memory card (largest one they made) corrupted itself and I lost all but two of my saves on it.

Doom Guy was an interesting read. I didn't know Romero worked on a kids MMO for four years that focused on stealthl integration of mathematics into the gameplay. That's pretty cool. Shame it never came out.

That stinks, Rob. That is the reason I never finished KOTOR 2. After sbout thirty hours, the screen went blank after a conversation. I reloaded several saves and it still did that. I'm still kind of pissed 19 years later.

I've got one last idea on how I might be able to fix things, but if that doesn't work I'll be putting the game away and maybe will check it out again in a year or so. Sad

I bought Lunastice that Mario Galaxy like platformer with a Sega vibe. Really love it, try the demo guys, it's a cheap game too.

Also tried the demo for Agatha Christie Murder On the Orient Express.

I'm a big adventure game fan and had been eyeing the Microids Hercule Quirot games. This demo pushed me over the edge.

I'm used to 3rd party switch games to have poor image quality, but this appears to be lavishly made. The train itself is glossy and ornate, with beautiful reflections. The character models are realistic but pleasingly chunky, almost Tintin like.

The game is fully 3d and you can investigate a crime scene in detail and look at objects up close. It's very much like the investigation parts of Ace Attorney, except you have full freedom of movement.

I'm going to start with the Agatha Christie Collection as it packs 2 games for £10.

And I'll pick the other 2 gamed later, maybe physical.
