I'm still pissed about the nerfed Yoshi, Nintendo!

So is my wife.  I got her to play the first 3 levels with me.  First she insisted on chosing Yoshi, despite me warnig her he couldn't use powerups.  Then she got upset she couldn't use powerups or turn into an elefant.

I have all of these wonderful new games to play but last might I ended up playing Mario Kart 64 for 3 hours instead. Why do I buy new games? LOL

Very dumb design choice. Isn't even needed

Couldn't agree more. I've spoken to the devs about this at length, but they insist the aggravation parameters are hard wired and can't be patched. I say it's clearly a bug, but her parents don't want to owe up to it. I'll just need to learn to live with the missus' temper I guess...

What a year this has been for gaming!

Baldurs Gate 3

Mortal Kombat 1

Diablo 4

Street Fighter 6

Spider Man 2

Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Armored Core 6

Sea of Stars

Final Fantasy 16

Jedi Survivor

I'm sure I've forgotten some but HOLY CRAP!! Is this year so much better because it's a stark contrast to the last few years of the Covid drought or is this one of the best gaming years E-V-E-R ? ! ?

It's the best! We are so lucky right now!

Been playing both Spider Man 2 and Mario Wonder. SM2 is blowing me away, this is one of this mega sequels that just takes everything that worked before up a notch. It's still not Arkham levels of deep but the story, activities you do, traversal, pacing are all excellent. This feels like a Naughty Dog game but with an open world attached. Every setpiece is thrilling, side stories are worth checking out and emotional. Plus it's the most next gen game ever, the stuff they do with the SSD, I can't believe how fluid flying through a city with those speeds are. It's a marvel, I am so hooked.

Then we have Mario Wonder, just finished world 3 and am blown away at the creativity on display. Every single level seems to have a new idea, some new twist. The wonder flower adds just the right amount of chaos to any level. I love the badges and the badge challenge levels. The game is gorgeous with the best 2D animation of the series. It still hasn't hit a challenge level I enjoy yet, and while many levels have a bunch of cool secrets I don't feel they are leading to anything in the world map. Maybe that happens later but I love the old games having secret exits leading to new secret levels and of course a special hidden world.

Yeah and GameSpot gave Alan Wake 2 a 10/10. I did really enjoy the first game as well as Quantum Break and Control so am very much looking forward to playing this one as well.

Friday the 13th! What can I say? I have no clue about what I'm doing but it sure is fun. The atmosphere is absolutely perfect. Does anyone else own this? Can you play this with multiple platforms?

I played it briefly on the Xbox One. Probably through Game Pass or a free trial period, not sure. I don’t think it’s crossplay though.

The latest Switch 2 rumours are wild.

One found a screen maker saying they're developing a foldable screen for a groundbreaking new console/portable.

Then Nintendo filed a patent for a foldable device that looks like a 3ds XL but which can split apart and operate independently.

When folded one of the screens sits on the outside of the unit so it can be used in single screen mode. Very much like a folding screen phone.
