Returned to playing through Mario 64 in the 3D All Stars Collection. Still very much an excellent game but the camera can be absolutely infuriating quite often. angry

I've been playing Baldur's Gate 1 (PC). Realtime combat with pause kinda sucks; would have been better with turn-based combat, IMO.

BG3's combat is going turn-based. Old man approved. đź‘Ť

This 100%.

I'm going to see Mario this Sunday with the nephews. Speaking of them I broke my right big toe because of my nephew being a brat, not listing to me, he ran to a piano we had when he needed to get dressed. I went to grab him off the bench and the bench got kicked down and landed on my toe. I'm in a boot now, yay, it's not too bad I'll heal in 6 weeks.

Holy crap.

How old was this nephew?

I was with the oldest today, moans about everything.

I bought the Road 96 prequel, for owners of the first game it gives you 25% off and the full sales price is only ÂŁ10 before the discount.

Also bought this Visual novel Arcade Spirit for 85% off.

So I'm starting to stream on Twitch. I've actually been cross streaming the horror webcast that I do to Twitch for the past 3 or 4 months (as well as casting it to YouTube and Facebook at the same time).  It was brought up by one of our viewers that we should start streaming actual games on Twitch so I've been giving it a try for the past several weeks.

This morning I streamed Trials of Mana while I wait for the games I ordered to come in, and while playing I had someone pop in and start holding a conversation. He was giving me suggestions on how to make the presentation look better, and talked lots and lots about the game itself.

It was nice to have the audience, but after a while it was getting frustrating as hell. I just wanted the guy to shut up and let me play the game. But I suppose that literally is the entire point of Twitch. You're supposed to play and interact.

And now I'm pretty convinced there's nothing at all here for me on Twitch. I don't like watching other people play, and apparently I don't like to talk to people while I play.

Robio the influencer. “Would you people kindly shut up, can’t you see I’m trying to play a game here.” LOL

That can be your new shtick. You could also stream from your bathtub, too.

Yeah I was trying to play Huntdown with my nephew today. Brilliant game but I couldn't play it properly as he was incessantly talking.

Gave up after 8 mins.
I used to be good at this game.

That's kind of why I never bothered with social media. I don't enjoy talking to most people much, and social media is where most people are these days...

On twitch can't you just play? Do you have to talk to random people?

Sure, you could but I would find that very boring personally. I couldn’t just sit and watch someone simply playing a game myself. I really only watch one streamer, Maximilian, with any regularity. I like watching him because he enjoys playing very similar games that I enjoy but I also watch him because he’s constantly engaging with his audience commenting about the game while he’s playing, joking around with viewers, etc. Makes for a much more enjoyable experience for me.

Yeah, you don't have to interact, but you should. It's one thing if you are playing some game at a god tier level and people are genuinely amazed by it. But if you're just some schlub playing a game not a ton of people care about you need to show some personality and interact with your viewers.

Theoretically, if you build up a big enough audience, you can play while they all talk amongst each other. However, I've got a total of maybe four followers. I've never seen more than one of the time either. So that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

Is no likelihood I'll probably do this a half dozen times and then never do it again.

This. You'd likely have a million followers within a month.

There's a lot of women out there who stream from their hot tub. Seems to be a pretty successful formula for them. I suspect I would have less success with it.

Yeah I saw some of those. Also saw some where you watch them sleep. Man, what a world. LOL

Yeah, he’s a pretty down to earth guy, has a good sense of humour, and is a competent gamer. He also likes to make it interesting for the viewer in how he plays the games. Puts a lot of time, effort, and money into his equipment to provide a quality stream.

I think the only games I could twitch would be the worst games ever made. Watching people torture themselves playing unbelievably shit games, could be entertaining.

So, around 25 hrs in AI The somnium files.

Almost completed it.

Very good game. I'd call it the Phoenix Wright of this generation. Even more so than the Great Ace Attorney. It feels fresh, the story is compelling, the humour is on point. The dream sequences are fun.

The voice acting is perfect and it's fully voice acted.

It has multiple branches where the story veers off into various potential endings. The good thing is that you can use this flowchart to see where the story deviates and how you can activate them.

What's great is near the end, I'm getting the true ending and it actually makes sense of all the other endings too. Kinda like Lost, they tie up all the loose ends in a way you wouldn't think was possible.
