I was playing SpiritFarer, but put it away a few days ago. I like it, but there's too much micro management. Everyday you have to feed your passengers one-on-one. And everyone has their preferences. The snake character has a vegan diet so heaven forbid you accidentally prepare grilled fish. Some characters need a hug. Others don't. Right now I just don't have an interest in that kind of gameplay management.

So I switched to Final Fantasy V, and have been immensely enjoying that since I haven't played it since the GBA release that I think was back in 2007.

Spiritfarer sounds too much like real life. Screw that.

Yeah, at first when it was just one passenger it wasn't so bad. Once it got to three, I was like, "what am I the cruise director?" But I kind of am.

Anyway I'll go back to it some other time because there was some cool stuff in it. Unfortunately, that kind of game requires a specific headspace and it's not where I am right now.

I already bought it.

I heard the premise of the game is looking after your shipmates as they move onto the next life.

I'll still try it as the reviews were excellent.

I'm sure you will enjoy it. I intend to go back to it at some point. I enjoyed the first two hours that I played. But once your third passenger joined, the game required a degree of mindfulness that I just wasn't in the mood for.

Civ 6 Anthology PC got some new official content recently. 👍

However, the Switch version so far has not received that same new content, thus rendering my PC game saves--with that content enabled--incompatible with the Switch. 👎

Bought a few games from the 3DS and Wii U eShops before they close today.

3DS:

  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies

Wii U:

  • Ogre Battle 64

Ogre Battle 64 isn’t on sale but wanted to grab that anyway.

I'm still playing Splatoon3, mostly splatzones.  That and Link's Awakening.

Funny, I'm the same. Can't miss a Phoenix Wright.

Why did you opt for the trilogy on 3ds though and not the switch version?

Are the 3ds versions actually in 3d?

I've only played a couple of hours of Dual Destinies and I'm already looking forward to that and Spirit of Justice.

You'd probably like AI The somnium files too.

It was like less then $3 Canadian for the 3DS version. Capcom is selling their 3DS games for peanuts right now. Around 85 to 90% off. Might be some 3D effect in them but I’ll be playing them on the 2DS XL anyway.

I’ve only ever played a bit of one via a demo but really enjoyed it. Always kept thinking of buying them before. At $3 or less figured what better time to grab a few.

This weekend has been all Resident Evil 4 Remake for me. Capcom has done such a fantastic job with remake. A very nice mix of the RE4 you know and love with some very nice creative change ups here and there. Am playing on hardcore mode and it’s quite intense. Plenty of enemies rushing and flanking you. Really love the knife parrying mechanic.

Happy Birthday! I hope Zelda video is everything we can hope for.

I played nothing but RE4, a phenomenal remake that captures exactly what made the original so great. I finished it yesterday on standard, doing hardcore fresh run now and it's the proper way to play for sure. I love how the game changes things up ever so slightly to surprise the player constantly. I am saddened that they cut so many great encounters though, yes they replaced some with new areas, some moments were amazing, some not a good replacement. Ultimately the OG is still better but this is obviously going to be a favorite of anyone who wants modern controls, it plays amazing. It's so similar to RE4 though that for lots of it I was just doing what I always do in an RE4 run so I was on auto pilot for some of it, it's not as wow as RE2 remake was which fundamentally changed the game. Still if it ain't broke don't fix it, so it's still an amazing game.

Thanks.

I’m currently playing on hardcore and just finished the cabin ambush section. It was insane. Must have taken me at least 10+ tries. Intense but also quite fun.
