I've been retro gaming this weekend. I played lots of SMB 1 (All-stars), Stunt Race FX, and Mario Kart 64 on NSO.

I finished the 7 DLC so moved onto 8. Not as creative so far, but mercenaries is really fun.

My weekend consisted of finishing Spider-Man 2 and playing some of The Callisto Protocol and Dead Space Remake.

I ended up playing SMB Wonder for a couple hours before bed. The stages with a 4-star difficulty rating are a lot of fun! More please!

I've been playing Tape to Tape, a pre-release rogue-lite arcade hockey game. It has a lot of really fun elements to it, and it manages to not be a pushover in teams of difficulty like hockey games often have. But it's also maybe a little bit far in the other direction as in the current patch on Expert difficulty it gets a bit frustrating. Still very recommended.

Happy Halloween!  Halloween festivities were limited to carving pumpkins this year.  Trick or Treat'ing isn't culturally ingrained here and the lady who organizes a walk down the street for the kids didn't take any action as her own kids have kind of outgrown it.  Of course, our kids were upset.  Perhaps we'll take on the role of organizers next year.  Perhaps.

I didn't play any games during this long weekend as me and the missus had booked a weekend away without the kids.  We spent a lot of time soaking in a spa, walking on the beach, eating fine food, and most importantly: sleeping in.

I also had to google 'to sleep in'.  Here it's called the exact opposite, namely 'to sleep out'.  Funny how languages work.

Some "kid" I assume, tried to get tobacco paper via online delivery to my house.

The delivery instructions were to leave outside, presumably this ass hat wanted paper to roll his weed. Unfortunately for him the delivery driver rang the doorbell instead.

Also the value of this tobacco paper was less than 1 dollar. The delivery would have cost 5x as much.

Later on in the night someone kept ringing the doorbell, probably wondering why his stuff wasn't outside the front door.

Damnit, should have remembered his name for giggles. Start knocking on doors lol.

A lewd incomplete draw-the-rest-of-the-picture implying a man with his pants down and someone on their knees, with the filled in version drawing a distorted Sonic picking up a ring with an enormous hand.

Finished SM2, review is up, loved it! Going to focus on Mario next and after that I signed up for Gamepass again so i'll play some games i missed throughout the year. Alan Wake 2 sounds great but another $70 game seems like a lot now. Avatar preview are ok... I'll pass, if im playing a movie licensed Ubi soft game its going to be Star Wars.

So lots of layoffs going on everywhere. I have been reading articles about the contrast of having one of the best video game years ever and at the same time one of the worst for the workers in the industry. It seems really sucky being a dev where you finally finish some big project and the mega corporation is like "well dont need them anymore, BYE!" The stupid neverending chase for more profits, for beating your previous quarter sales, never satisfied. Things cant grow forever, just because the damn board members didnt see 30% growth this quarter doesnt mean a chunk of people should be fired. Weird place we are in where nearly every game is a risk, takes like 4 years to make and if it bombs it could tank a studio. At least Nintendo knows what they are doing, keep making games that look like PS3 games! lol... will that change soon...

Pablo (a leaker) on famiboards is hinting that a switch 2 reveal may come tomorrow. frown

That 3 screened monstrosity Nintento patented better not be true. Is the idea to separate a screen in public to give to a second player? I don't want to pay for a feature I won't use.

Whilst the joycons are great to hand to another player(s) in a multiplayet pinch I've never played multiplayer in public like the OG switch ads.

GameStop is having a 4 for $40 sale, and the selection of games is really good. None of the latest games obviously, but if there were any big titles you missed from a couple years back this is a great time to pick them up.
