Glad I'm not subscribed to PS+.

That's a pretty hefty price bump. I haven't had PS Plus ever since I decided to go physical only, so I can't honestly say this is going to affect me. However if I was reconsidering, I probably wouldn't do so until a Black Friday level discount was offered.

Well holy hell. Sony is increasing the prices for PS+. Starting September 6th each tier will increase by the following amounts:

  • Essential - +$20
  • Extra - +$35
  • Premium - +$40

That’s a 33% increase. Those are USD prices for yearly subscriptions so different currencies will vary. I get that subscription services tend to increase periodically but that’s a hell of a jump there.

Damn. These subscription models are getting out of hand.

Probably going to grab two or three yearly subscription cards before the price increase.

A couple days ago I got a $10 credit on PSN, and since we have a 3-day weekend coming up I thought I would take a look and see what's available. There's an entire section dedicated to games under $10, so that seemed like the right place to browse.

However, you would probably be surprised how many games are more than $10 in the "games under $10 category". And in some cases, it's not even close. Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin is listed in here, and it's $19.49. The Last Stand; Aftermath is 1999. They're completely missing the mark here. Sony really doesn't seem to understand the concept of money these days do they?

Well, they tried to sell a $600 console in 2006.

I got a notification about Nintendo online renewal.

Can't get rid of it, but don't use it.

If I ever want to actually play Splatoon 3 I need it. I've been waiting for a price drop on Animal Crossing and Mario Kart dlc.

I don't play the snes games on there.

Guess I could cancel it and renew it at a later date. Seems like too much effort. Meh.

Has Nintendo ever dropped the price of their DLC? I don't recall ever seeing that happen.

It happened recently. Animal Crossing New Horizons expansion was 20% off.

I'm determined to wait for the standard 33% off they do.

You have to watch list the dlc on the eshop and check your list once a week.

Actually there's another huge sale on right now. May pick up a few things like The Messenger, Dropsy and Angelo and Deemon.

The Mario Wonder Direct was fun. It will definitely be the most unpredictable Mario game since Super Mario Bros 3 I think.  With the different abilities and badges, and even some of the co-op, I suspect there's going to be a lot of secrets to find.

I didn't watch the direct.  It's Mario, it'll be fun.  However, I skipped most of the 'new' SMB games as I felt I'd seen it all before.  I hope Wonder will be able to surprise me.

The only worry I have about the Wonder direct is these abilities to bypass huge parts of the levels.

The bubble seems overpowered too.

Throughout the direct I got the feeling that the Kirby games were somewhat of an influence on Wonder's design. There will be abilities that allow you to skip sections of levels and some levels completely. However if you do that, you will miss out on wonder seeds which will ultimately prevent you from unlocking new abilities and advancing all together.

Sucks they made Yoshi invincible. I would have enjoyed playing through the entire game with Yoshi on normal difficulty.

Most of the time when I die in a Mario game, it's because I missed a jump. Because of that, I don't think Yoshi will make most of the game too much easier. The boss fights may likely be a different story though.

Nintendo should have made all characters invincible or not with an in-game option. Let the player decide. Nintendo did that with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the easy control setting; it wasn't limited to only select characters/karts. Oh well.

Yeah they should have put the option for all characters to be invincible instead. Anyway the game looks fantastic and is a definite day one purchase for me.

This weekend I started exploring planets, fighting Sarlaacs, and traitorous Jedi in Jedi Survivor.
