Anyone start watching the new Netflix series High Score -- it's by the Toys that Made Us People.

I am about 4 episodes in, and they have done a very good job, but for anyone already versed in video game history it is dull.  I have not learnt a single new thing yet.

But I reccomend checking it out.

Yeah I heard that it is pretty good. Not expecting to learn anything new myself but it should make for an entertaining refresher. Hopefully as entertaining as Robio’s “skating incident”. LOL

I've seen two episodes, its way too over produced and seems to be focused on more niche aspects of the era, like tournaments and such. They care more about who they interviewed rather than a straight history lesson. It's still good but not as a way to really learn history.

I'm now in the mine of Re4 heading towards the double ogre boss. Game has got better and better. I've stopped playing Jake in re6 cause I can't stop Re4. BTW it looks best on switch off screen as its closer to the games original resolution. Blowing it up to 1080p on a giant 4ktv is overkill and shows up the low res textures. Really graphically impressive, I had forgotten what a powerhouse this was back in the day. There are billowing curtains before cloth physics were a thing. Moving hair, floor reflections, moving light sources like swinging lanterns. Heat distortion, fire effects that still look great. Mist, fog, rain. So good.

Greatest action game ever made.

I've shared this story a couple times over the years. Basically when my son was three or four years old, he learned that if you put a CD or DVD on carpet you could slide on them.

So I'm working from home, and in my office next to his playroom, listening to him watch cartoons, and bumping around and laughing. I have no idea what's actually going on, But he's occupying himself unusually well and I'm actually getting a lot of work done so I don't think much of it.

Eventually I do go check on him and in the course of 30 to 45 minutes he has carpet skated on over half of my game library and numerous movies. Most of the discs are scratched to hell and are unplayable.

It was at this moment I became a proponent of digital gaming, and started diving into how to hack your Wii and start backing up games.

yikes lol. Oh I would be so upset.

He should at least have been banished to an Asian monastery to become the next Batman.

Damn, I remembered the carpet skating incident. I thought there might be an epic story about how yet another copy of RE4 was destroyed! Sad

Honestly that's not a bad idea. Without the right guidance he's going to end up a supervillain. Earlier this spring I had the cops bring him home at 4AM in the morning (though it was for the nerdiest reason ever).

He and his friends wanted to see the Starlink Satellite Train (a straight line of satellites visible to the naked eye which is admittedly kind of cool). Problem is, it wasn't visible until 3:30 AM.  Anyway, they all snuck out and while walking to an area without many trees and a clear view, police rolled up.

Let me tell you, getting woke up by the po-po at 4AM will not put you in a good mood.

I don't know if there's actually a law about when kids have to be inside, but it is frowned upon for young teens to be out at 4AM.

In this case though, around that time our neighborhood had several car break-ins in the early hours of the morning. From video footage a few people have, it looks like older teens or young adults basically walk through neighborhoods trying to open up car doors to see whatever they can get in them.

Because of this, police have been patrolling the neighborhoods around that time and our kid and his friend got picked up.

Rob, sorry to have to break this too you, but that's what the kids call doing lines of cocaine off hookers these days.

Should have got a CRX.

Watched it in hospital. I was also shocked that it was good.

I also watched a Zelda film in hospital once...it wasn't good, like most films in hospitals.
