Great minds. I'm bored, give us some Wii U impressions. How are you finding the reality vs the media perception of it?
I'm confused. Is it the remake they were doing, or a totally new game? By Crytek UK? Why only the PS4?
Nevermind....I just read it.
Its a remake of the multi-player maps from the first 3 games, and its not being done by Crytek UK.
I recommend playing Resident Evil 5 with Move. Honestly that's the only thing that makes me feel like I didn't completely waste my money on Move. Makes it a better game.
Celda!!!!
I'm still not convinced by tWW. They want me to pay €60 for a game, just so that it would really look as good as it does in my memories? I can look to the past with my rose tinted glasses and not have to pay a dime for it.
Is 60 Euros for the statue version?
Nope, game only. I didn't think we were getting the statue at all here in Europe, but I just saw gamemania updated their site. With statue it's €70. In which case I'm off to preorder it this evening. I'll probably end up owning the game somewhere down the road anyhow, and the €10 surplus makes the horrid pricing for the game itself more stomachable.
The Wii U isn't a slouch in the graphics department. It can produce Next gen graphics. Maybe not as nice as the others or obviously the PC, but its certainly capable of producing stuff beyond PS3 that looks badass.
Well Gentlemen, Crysis 3 is done.
Took me exactly 8 hours...not a very long game. It was fun from start to finish though. I may have to subtract what I said about it being better than Crysis 2. They're really pretty equal honestly. I think C3 starts better than C2. Neither game impressed me as much as the original though...that game blew me away the first time I played it. I think in C2 and C3, they took too many influences from other popular shooters and it ruined the originality of the franchise a bit.
The only major negatives I can say are that its short, it doesn't have the vibe of Crysis 1, its way too easy to stealth through most of the game, and vehicle controls blow. 8.4 from me.
As a Timesplitters fan, I am cynical.
Just started and finished Journey in 70 minutes.
No going to talk about it until this weekend's podcast. Oh and Saints Row 4 STILL has not arrived.
I'm at work, so keeping this short. Color me impressed. I love a lot of the features and the controller just feels great. I love playing Pikmin in 1080 p which I think is the first game I've seen in that resolution.
And you hated it didn't you! Feel the hatred flow.
Flipping gonintendo - Shantae kickstarter is for all platforms.
Now that the Xbox One release date has been announced retailers like Shopto and Game have begun taking pre-orders.
There are several bundle options available. The Day One Edition of Xbox One already comes with a digital copy of FIFA 14, a commemorative controller, wired headset, wireless controller and HDMI cable. Additionally, Shopto has bundles that include Battlefield 4 and £15 of Xbox Live credit for £489.85; a copy of Forza Motorsport 5 and a year subscription of Xbox Live Gold for £499.85; Dead Rising 3 with the same Gold subscription for £519.85; or a second wireless controller with a year-long Gold subscription for £504.85.
Are they crazy?! Nearly 500 for the cheapest bundle?

Dang, I've been playing Rayman Legends most of the day. I'm sure the regular levels play well on other consoles, but there is no way on Gods green earth, that the touch screen levels are done any sort of justice with a regular controller - and there are tons of these levels, almost a 60/40 split. The game has surpassed my expectations and makes NSMBU look and feel lazy and unimaginative, even though it's still impeccably designed. The visuals in this game are sumptuous, the music is beautifully orchestrated. The game flows wonderfully, the U game pad use is perhaps only second to Zombi U and it still looks beautiful in offscreen play. Really great game so far.
More Wii U impressions: I love that the interface is similar to the Wii channels. My wife said that Nintendo copied the iPad app interface. Lol. It's so easy to switch between what's on the TV screen and what's on the controller screen. There are little things that improve this over the Wii like Miiverse, no friend codes, and no ugly digital clock.
Everything is just so accessible.
Regarding the controller, it's incredibly light. I think I read somewhere that it weighs slightly over a pound, but it doesn't feel too light like it'll go flying out of your hands during heavy gameplay. I thought it was an incredibly stupid move for Nintendo to abandon motion control for this, but I gotta say, I really do like this controller now that I've had a ton of time with it. It really does feel nice. I'm certainly relieved that Nintendo added two shoulder button and L3/R3 buttons.
As far as the hardware goes, I'm impressed. It's just sad that we will see a very slow trickle of quality games for this system. I can't wait to try out offscreen play at work on Saturday.
