Which Videogame Franchise Do You Feel is Not Living Up to its Potential?
I'm going to go with an obvious one while I give it some more thought: Pokémon. With the amount of money it makes, you'd think they could produce better games.

You have to give greatness the proper amount of time.
I'd put EverQuest on this list, although it's probably more accurate to call it an abandoned franchise rather than one not living up to its potential. But at its peak it was an MMO, with two spin-off MMOs, two Diablo like Dungeon crawlers, and I think there was an RTS out there too. But once Sony cut them loose, they just never had the money to do anything else. I guess. They tried doing EverQuest 3 once before and that failed to launch.
But the original game and EQ2 are still both running with small but very dedicated fan bases. And there's a lot of emulated mod servers out there, one that's recently sparked a lawsuit and controversy.
Anyway, just feels like something more could be done with it. They are trying to make an EverQuest 3 again, but I don't know how well that's going to work out this time either.

Gotta go with Assassin's Creed. The latest version is just sort of boring.
