01. Super Metroid. Released on SNES, 1994. Completed 8th Jan 2026. 8/10
Enjoyed this for the most part but it was also very frustrating. It took me over twenty hours to complete and I had to use a guide to figure out where to go next on one occasion. I'm glad to have played it. Now I have played all official 2D Metroid games except for the first two (NES Metroid and GB Metroid II).
02. Castlevania: Symhony of the Night. Released on PS1, 1997. Completed 22nd Jan 2026. 7/10
I didn't have a playstation back in the day, so this was another "classic" 90s console game I missed out on. I tried playing it once before but I gave up. Played to completion this time, including the inverted castle to get the (good) ending. I enjoyed playing it but it was kind of boring for large sections, kinda wished it would end already. Think I enjoyed the GBA and DS games more.
reserved to preserve accomplishments in the future (slur the 'ure' for better rhyme)
- The Lair of the Clockwork God - Switch2 - 24/01 - 8/10 - A charming point 'n click / platformer mashup with oodles of charm and packed with even more humour. Loved every minute of it.
1. Dark Souls III
The Ringed City Completed - 08/01/2026
I'm free to never co-op this game with friends again. Onto Elden Ring which I'll beat with them in 10 years!
I keep my list over at backlogged now, so here is the link
So far two games, one of them being RE4. Lots of RE games will be here at the start.
The Lair of the Clockwork God - Switch2 - 24/01 - 8/10 - A charming point 'n click / platformer mashup with oodles of charm and packed with even more humour. There's even some 4th wall breaking stuff! And the ending is... something alright. Loved every minute of it. If anything save points could be a bit more generous as I was forced to replay some rather hefty bits after playing something else inbetween. In no part helped by a few bugs late in the game that required me to shut the game down and reboot it.
First game of 2026 for me!
I've been loving my cozy games lately, and it didn't hurt that this one was the sequel to Dragon Warrior 3 (NES)! Such a creative game! So much more in depth than DQB1 and such a joy to play!

What???? A sequel to DQ3? Shit, I'm sold.

Dragon Quest 2! Sorry! Mixing them up. It's the continuing story of Hargon and Malroth.

Oh. Well that's much less exciting.
Well, as the Builder series goes, 1 was a continuation of DQ1, 2 was a continuation of DQ2... If they make a Builders 3...
Little Misfortune - I didn't like this very much. It started out with a lot of dark humor, which I appreciate. But as it progressed, there was less humor and more dark shit. May if the puzzle elements were better I could have enjoyed it more, but it was practically a walking simulator with moments of choosing one of two options.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon - Despite an excruciatingly slow start, this was a great game. I put in 85 hours and easily could have played more. Transforming a brawler into a jRPG isn't easy, but they pulled it off and made for another good entry in the Yakuza series.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town - This was disappointing and a very low effort "remake". Aside from a few QoL changes, this was barely a remake. I have a lot of nostalgia for the game, and that carried me pretty far, but once I got to the credits to roll (the game can and is intended to be played long after) I called it quits.
