Really, I think the designs look promising. Shredder seems in line with the old designs.
He looks like the baby of Sauron and the tin man. They went overkill with all the plating. I mean, just look at his legs and arms! Or his cape. I mean seriously, how does he not cut himself on a daily basis with that cape while getting dressed?

I really want this movie to work. With Bay signed on, all signs point to it being a hot mess, but I do like the designs so far.

He was never in danger of being a pussy covered in plating looking like a rejected Assassin's Creed concept.
The concept is worlds apart from the cartoon rendition in my opinion. The cartoon armor looks functional, something that would be an aid in battle. 'Tank Shredder' on the other hand looks as if he couldn't get back to his feet if he fell on the floor on his back.

I agree, but the blades on the plating are one of the few things true to the original.
Also not a big fan of the new turtles: they weren't badarse in the original, they were goofy. I suppose forced, false badarseness is the modern equivalent to forced (to the point of becoming amusing) coolness, though. Yawn. At least it's not quite as bad as the new show, I guess?

was reading a jleagur war review and stumbled across this: "Jay Oliva directed “Justice League: War” and much like “Man of Steel” (which he storyboarded)" he also directed batman dkr parts 1 and 2 and i think flashpoint paradox too.
so the guy who directs many of the best dc animated movies storyboarded man of steel
