I played The Witness and SimCity SNES. Mainly just killed time while on a lazy rainy weekend. Debating a play through of something big like Persona 5 or Dragon Quest 11.

That sounds like a nice way to spend some time. I love the music in SNES SimCity.

Had a busy farm weekend, but bought Slay the Spire for Switch (already have it on PS4) so got some small amount of time with that.

And Mario Kart 8 on Wii U and MK8 Deluxe on Switch with the kid. Speaking of double ups.  I was impressed with how MK8 looked on the Wii U's tablet. That's Nintendo magic at work.

A few months after covid broke out, Sony gave away everyone a copy of The Witness, and encourage people to stay home and play. Neat idea.

I've spent about 5 hours with it over the past 2 days, and I can confirm my fucking hate Sony for putting this game into my hands. This really walks that line of puzzle games that test you versus ones that just mock you. I don't think I'm having fun.

I wonder if you'd like The Talos Principle better? My take on Witness was much like yours it was enjoyable to a point, but once you start going to the guides for help it's the game playing you instead of you playing the game (like in Russia).

This weekend was all about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for me. Also just finished watching the AEW pay per view, Revolution. Sting had his final match at it. Was a really good one too.

From those who are reporting sounds like a great weekend all around!

I did so much farm work it's not even funny. Culminating in today doing weed control. Anyone here read Day of the Triffids? The Day of the Triffids - Wikipedia

I consider it a good read, but that was basically my day today. We are talking weird ass weeds that are 7 foot tall. Pure alien designs, like this one: Datura stramonium - Wikipedia

Check out the seed pods.  Some animal has figured out that the plant is a hallucinagin and eaten the leaves off of most of them, which is helpful. But that's just one of them. So yeah lots of cancer-causing sprays were used today.

The Octopath traveler dev has been Acquired by a different company. Now Octopath 1 has vanished from the eshop.

Might want to snap this one up while you can.

I was actually thinking the same thing while I was playing. If I have to start using a guide on a regular basis, am I really playing the game at that point? Anyway, I'm probably going to be putting it away and moving onto something else. Whatever that might be, it probably won't be a puzzle game.

I think it's more interesting to compare it to how many games the Wii U had, which I think was maybe 12?

No, I'm pretty sure they've got that wrong. There are 12 games.

That number did confuse the hell out of me because that's about as many games as they were on the NES. The total number gets a little fuzzy when you start adding in the unlicensed games, but it was somewhere around 1400 titles.

Of course, when I clicked and looked at the list, it's mainly that high because of the virtual console games. They also have a lot of different special editions counted as different games. Like a GameStop version of assassin's Creed III and a regular version of assassin's Creed III are counted as two separate games.

In conclusion, my number of 12 stands.

Insane collectors have to have every variant of each and every game, so they count. Nyaa

It turns out man was the true weed all along.

Yuzu shutting down is kind of a bummer. The switch emulator was probably not the smartest thing for them to make, so this probably shouldn't have been seen as a shock to anyone. However, they had put together a really good 3DS emulator. Like the DS, I think there's a lot of games in that library that are going to get cut off from being played.
