Well I got PGA Tour 09 on the Wii, even though I have numerous other games to play.

Its really good. The swing mechanics work really well, even though at times it feels like its not quite keeping up with your movements. The last PGA Tour I had was, I think, 04 on the Xbox. Which was also a great game. This one definitely seems a step ahead of 04 in terms of modes and presentation.

Graphically Matt C. was right on in his review. Most of the time it looks like a great PS2 game, albiet with full widescreen support. But the new courses you can tell they had to actually design on Wii, because they look quite a bit better. Instead of looking like a great PS2 game, the 5 new courses look more like a great Xbox game. No doubt they could still push the Wii alot more if they wanted to in terms of audiovisuals.

Online I didn't mess with yet, but it seems to be set up extremely well, and uses the same structure as MOH Heroes. Its too bad more companies don't have their own servers set up on Wii like EA does, because as of right now EA is destroying everyone online on Wii, including Nintendo. EA's games have actual real online functions like every other console since the Dreamcast, instead of ridiculous friend codes and all that bullshit.

One thing that seems a step back from 04 is the character creation. Its still fairly deep, but it seems harder to get a really unique looking character, and also seems impossible to create a dude who doesn't look half-asian for some reason. I tried to make a good ME but, unlike 04, it doesn't look like me at all.

Very recommended, though like Matt says also, once next year's golf comes out with motionplus and hopefully real Wii audiovisuals, this one probably won't feel very fresh. Right now though, its the best golf out there.

Nope. I bought an official dvd off ebay that turns out to be not so official. It has a hologram and all that and the guy had like 300 positive feedback but it's an obvious fake. I've asked for my money back, but I'm glad I got to see it as Ghibli tend not to put the english subs on the first japanese release and then the western release is usually a year late. I will re-buy the official release when it's up in like 9 months time *groan*

How easy is it to dip in and out of gameplay? For instance if I start an 18 course run, can I save after a few holes and continue later?

Test out the online. Maybe if I get this, like in a few months (I have tons of stuff to finish) we can sink a few balls into some dark holes. Like SteelAttack does most weekends.
