05.12.25 - Netflix has reached an agreement to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, which includes the entire video game segment in addition to the film and streaming business.
The enterprise value of the business is USD 82.7 billion. This would mean that studios such as NetherRealm, Rocksteady, Avalanche and TT Games would become the property of Netflix. Warner Bros. manages brands such as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and the DC Universe.
Netflix said the acquisition combines two companies with extensive experience in the entertainment sector and creates a combination of technical reach, streaming expertise and an extensive catalog of content. According to Netflix, competition control in the USA is likely.
In the event of a prohibited approval, Netflix provides for a compensation payment of USD 5 billion. What consequences the takeover will have for Warner Bros.'s gaming business remained open.
05.12.25 - Sony is working on a comprehensive further development of its image scaling technology for the PS5 Pro, according to an unconfirmed report from Moore's Law is Dead.
The internal designation is Multi Frame Super Resolution 2, or MFSR2 for short. This technology is to be available from 2026 and will expand the previous PSSR solution in several respects. According to information from a developer who works with Sony's tools, the new approach reduces the need for input data, reduces memory consumption and shortens the load on the graphics unit.
At the same time, the image quality is supposed to improve: Sony is already providing the studios with analysis tools that better identify errors in the current PSSR. The hints coincide with complaints about artifacts in various games.
04.12.25 - Sony's latest version of the DualSense controller has a significantly longer battery life, according to a report by modder Modyfikator89.
The revision CFI-ZCT2W uses a revised BDM-060 board, which, among other things, does not include an additional microphone, while other electronic components work more efficiently. The model is available in PS5 Pro bundles (CFI-7121), new PS5 Slim packs (CFI-2116), as well as several color and theme variants (e.g. Ghost of Yotei Gold Limited Edition Controller).
I saw a bit of this last night on gametrailers.
Looks like an Avatar the Last Airbender like world. Gameplay reminded me of Assasins Creed, but in China.
Metroid pinball was awesome. I remember being completely blown away by the rumble pack that you could insert into the GBA slot. I think at that point, it was the best rumble feature in gaming.
Also looking forward to getting WB stuff on Netflix. The price will most definitely be going up.
Same. I don't want to lose that. Netflix, you csn rerelease Arkham Origins on consoles.
You can already get games with your sub playing on your phone. But are they going to keep Hogwarts Legacy and AAA Batman going?
Also how will this affect Mortal Kombat?
Its virtually 8pm and I have to work in the morning.
Thanks amazon.
That is a plus.
My god, just finished a certain part in the Ice Belt and when the lighting starts and music hits...
Best part of the game so far.
A month or so ago the WD_Black 2TB SSD for the PS5 at Best Buy was like $295 Canadian. May have been $275, not entirely sure. Last week it was $308. This week it’s $380. Here. We. Go.
Prices haven't affected Amazon here yet. That exact SSD is currently $214 USD on Amazon. I paid $145 for the 1TB Samsung version with heatsink three years ago; it's $150 today. Next year will likely be different, though.
DDR 5 RAM prices are nuts, though. Over $300 for 32GB. Crucial brand division of consumer-level PC RAM is now being shut down by Micron, so they can sell all manufactured of their RAM to AI companies. Consumers won't need RAM in the future; well just stream all of our AI genereated games on our smart TVs and phones. What could possibly go wrong?
I popped in my copy of Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 this morning and I was a little surprised when both game icons showed up on my home screen as individual games. Nice!
Galaxy 1 has much improved textures over the 3D Allstars version. Nintendo went back and improved them for both games. Gyro controls feel much improved too; more accurate and reliable than on the original Joycons. I don't need to recenter the pointer much if at all and the larger Switch 2 Joycons are much more confortable to use in the untethered, Wii Remote+Nunchuk style.
It'll be a lot of fun going back to both games now.
Did you download the switch 2 patch?
