The intellivision Sprint is kind of tempting. The original television was such a rarity when I was a kid. I only knew one family in the neighborhood that owned one, and all the kids in that household were just fucking terrible. It wasn't worth enduring them to play donkey Kong over there.

I'm probably going to put it on a watch list and see if it drops just a little bit in price. $150 isn't bad, but it's a little more than I want to spend on a retro only system. But then again, those controllers look fantastic.

This weekend I hooked up my Sega Genesis 2 Mini and played some Rolling Thunder 2, Splatterhouse 2, Sonic CD, Super Street Fighter 2 and Sewer Shark.

Sewer Shark is a bad game, but like terrible old B-movies, it has it's charms; enough charm for me to beat three times back in the day. Man, does the Sega CD FMV look terrible on a 4K TV; barely playable even with the CRT filter.

I should give Night Trap a go later, lol.

This weekend I mostly played more Alan Wake 2. Played a little bit of Dragon Ball FighterZ. It’s crazy that they’re adding another character to the game. The roster is pretty huge for it.

This weekend has all been about Hades for me. I've been planning to play it for years now, now that the sequel got released I figured it was about time. And yeah, absolutely excellent.

Hello, the bad friend is here.

Started Arkham Asylum again, but not really getting much gaming time.

Big news for Aspro, I have Starlink so I know have 252-400 Mbps depedning on the time of day and 29 Mbs upload (and more importantly unlimited usage).

So this is going to change a fari bit of my theorethical gaming life (beaing able to buy Call of Duty again for example).  My mind has not yet adjusted to this reality, but I started out by buying the Batman Trilogy for $13 yesterday (something I would never have considered with a internet data cap).

Wow, that's some disclosure right there.

I cannot wait to get a Switch 2 to play this game.

What platform? Is it a good? (must be).

I just watched trailers on Steam, look amazing -- I have no first hand exp with th IP but is really compelling. Think Asura's Wrath x Soul Calibur?

Here's what I wrote earlier.I completed Super Mario Galaxy 2 and loved it. Its not as good as the first one. I guess I just love exploring on Rosalinas ship more and how grand everything feels. The biggest gripe that I have are the controls. Sometimes when things get hectic, I lose control of Mario and he just starts to run around in a circle on his own. I read that this has been an issue since the game was first released 15 years ago. So, why wasn't this fixed? Also, the pointer controls are kinda crap, especially when trying to grab something as Yoshi or pull yourself to a blue star. I couldn't find an option to change controls but it would have been nice to just click a button to highlight something to grab onto. I was using the Pro Controller 2 so maybe I can map that button to one in the back and see if that is easier. Fantastic game, still one for the ages. The controls just need to be tweaked.

Surely use split joycon? Did you recenter the gyro? There must be a button to do it.

Yeah, it’s really good. Does an amazing job emulating the tv show both in action and look. It’s on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. Goes on sale frequently. Get the Ultimate Edition as it comes with all the dlc.

It's a puzzle game where you basically have to be an asshole. Puzzles are clever though, so I'd say it's worth it. It's a good Sunday afternoon kind of game.

My daughter likes it, I never got pass the second level and have gone back to it a few times. It's a problem inherent with logic-puzzle games, it may be perfectly logical to the designer, but not to the player.

Unique aesthetic, Australian developed game. $10 is the right price for the game.

Added to the wishlist to see when it goes on sale, it's a bit pricey right now. It would be nice to have a demo, especially since fighting games are relatively easy to "gate" and you get a full vertical slice easily enough (just lock up the characters).

The Sonic racing game that just came out has a good deom like that, limited tracks, limited characters but the demo is enough to give you a full feel for the game (it's quite good).

I tried the Persona 3 demo and...ugh

I assumed I'd like Persona but my experience was like Vaders.

Fixed archaic camera angles, endless visual novel like segments, invisible walls. Bog standard anime story.

Glad I didn't get Persona 5 now.

Former PlayStation exec: Sony can’t keep boosting graphics power in new consoles after tech plateau, but PS5 has already improved nearly every game.

You know how that old song goes – you say 120fps, I say 60fps / you say ray tracing, I say I'm so bored, I just fell asleep / let's call the whole thing off! Something like that. That's what it might as well be now that multiple industry leaders, including former PlayStation Indies head Shuhei Yoshida, agree that gaming technology has hit a big brick wall.

"Graphics [have] almost hit the level that even I cannot tell the difference between some of the [graphical capabilities] like ray traced or not ray traced, unless it's side by side, or higher frame rate," Yoshida says during a recent episode of Skill Up's Friends Per Second podcast.

Not long ago, former Sony CEO Shawn Layden expressed a similar sentiment, wondering, "How many of us can really tell the difference between 90 frames per second and 120 frames per second?" Even PlayStation design consultant Mark Cerny – who's worked with Sony through multiple console cycles and helped create the PS4 and PS5 – feels like "the current approach" to ray tracing and lighting "has reached its limit."

Continuing this point, Yoshida says about PlayStation that, "clearly they just cannot do the same thing they have been doing, [which] is increasing the graphics power and providing high-end experiences."

With the superheroic power of the PS5, though, that may not be the worst thing ever. Yoshida explains: "I think PS5 is amazing system in terms of quality of experience. I think the adoption of SSD was like an almost miracle."

"I think PS5 and SSD has made almost every game a better game," he concludes.

I don't agree.

I've seen AI created characters created which are virtually real, which look, are animated and behave like they're real.
