I googled Anya Taylor Joy.

Her eyes are freakishly far apart.  It's downright unsettling.  I remember this movie Splice, where they had a humanoid creature that resembled a woman and they used AI to move the actress' eyes further apart to make her look more like an alien.  Also,  I bet she has a hard time setting her IPD properly in VR headsets.

I kind of like her because of that. She's got a very unique look unlike so many other actresses. And I've always kind of dug the imperfections. I'd also doesn't hurt that she's in some pretty good God damn movies, and she's usually the best part of them too.

I'm not familiar with her work at all, but based on her google images, I think she's quite pretty.

I keep rewatching the Sonic Superstars gameplay trailer. I'll likely pick this one up if it turns out well.

Oh yes, The Witch and Split are damn fine movies.

Having some post holiday blues.

Nothing seems exciting and the reality of my everyday life and work etc is dawning on me.

Also came home to a new heat wave.

But no new diarrhea, so win, right?

Post pics for us jealous heathens.

If you get into a mood for movies here's a couple of her films that I would recommend.

The Witch - Travo already mentioned this, and for good reason. Despite being only 17 or so she did a great job. It's a slow moving folk horror movie, so it won't be for everyone, but it definitely builds up into something super creepy and makes very good discomforting viewing.

Last Night in Soho - visually this movie is amazing. There's a dance sequence that is maybe the best thing captured on film in 10 years. Unfortunately the movie itself is only okay. Certainly not bad, but nothing you're going to want to rewatch. She has a smaller role in this movie, and she is quite good.

The Menu - this is an outstanding black comedy from last year, and one of my favorite films from 2022. Ralph Fiennes was awesome, but she held her own performing against him.

Oh the summer sale is on Switch right now. Some games are at new low prices.

Picked up The Coma for like £1, this graphic adventure game called the Blind Prophet.

And another point and click, Truberbrook is like £2

Dear Capcom,

It would be swell if you'd make a new Darkstalkers game using the RE engine like Street Fighter 6. Just sayin'.

Thanks,
Ravenprose

Sadly I think that HD remake of Darkstalkers 3 was pretty much a bomb, and it may have been the death blow for the franchise.

So really, we should all be putting our energy into wanting a StarTropics 3 instead.

I'm shopping for a new entertainment stand, so I could have all my systems hooked up and still look nice. I really wish I had access to a workshop so I can custom build my own. Shopping online and in-stores for these sucks.

I was decent 30 years ago. Nothing fancy. I had a lot of wood working classes in high school. I'm certain I could build something solid if I had the right tools.

That MS show, starfield... I am in awe. Starfield looks like a dream come true, last time we saw it the combat looked stiff, well that's FIXED. Jet pack gunning, zero G combat, punch aliens in the face class, blade stealth class. Making your own ship anyway you want, building a crew, exploring the entire galaxy. Space combat that's more Tie-Fighter than arcade style. It's magical.
