So the next Pikmin takes place up Miyamoto's butt? That's a daring choice.

Thanks for the impressions, GG!

I'd upgrade if it were more powerful but I play docked 99% of the time.

Given how much cooler the OLED is, and the improved battery life, I wish Nintendo would just unshackle the gpu and cpu clock rates for handheld play. You could have native 720p in every game played handheld. With better graphical effects too.

Great impressions GG! I am passing on all switch stuff until the graphical upgrade one comes, hopefully with Zelda. But knowing Nintendo Zelda will come out first, then later switch 2 and a new version of Zelda that you have to buy all over cause Nintendo doesn't do free upgrades.

The ps showcase had a bunch of cool Japanese games like the Projecy eve, called something new, looks like crazy DMC like game. The team ninja Ronin game looks cool, very far away though. GoW of course is stunning, day one (with sonic).

Today there was a Capcom TGS show, RE news coming next month. SF6 was shown and it has so many cool extra modes. The full adventure mode where you travel around and meet the SF characters and learn from them. There is the battle arena where you sit in virtual arcades to fight other players. There are smash like crazy battle modes with items, levels with dangers, different win scenarios, looks so much fun. The arena has a retro arcade where you can play old capcom arcade games like SF2. It reminds me of Tekken 3 with so much content.

I watched the PlayStation showcase, as I was bored and it showed up on my YouTube feed. Very cinematic games.

On Switch 2,i thought it might not be a switch 2. As Every Nintendo console is different.

If it is switch 2, it might have a higher resolution screen. Which might actually make existing switch games look worse on it. Given that a lot of them are sub-hd.

I know this is ridiculous and doesn't matter to most people, but there are a couple of little design choices on the OLED.

That shows that they really, really thought about the design.

Under OG switch there's a sticker with a bar code on the bottom underside. When I'm watching a cutscene I often rest my thumb there and its worn away the number. You need this number for getting it repaired.

I actually had to photograph and enhance and save the image so I still had access to it.

On the OLED it's been moved. There are also tiny little rubber feet for when in table top mode.

The sd card slot is now completely enclosed under the stand and laid horizontally so it won't just drop out.

Even when you pop it out there's a little tray built in which kind of captures it so it doesn't fall straight to the floor.

I also saw a real PS5 in a store today, they had a rack of them lined up vertically and I couldn't believe it.

It's fricking huge! Lol
It's like a mini fridge in white.
And lined up it looked like model skyscrapers in an old Godzilla film.

I am a touch unhappy with the OLED Dock, its very loose. So when the tablet is in the Dock, if you want to take on or pull off joycons, or change a game cart: the switch kind of wobbles left or right as its only supported in the middle bottom, where the port is.

We had a lot of fun with our first couple of games on Switch Sports last night. Soccer seems awfully similar to Rocket League.

That just means it's realistic.

Last night I tried Crysis 2 remastered on the OLED.

Omg, like whoa.

Resolution aside, it looks better than my 4ktv.

I had to sit through 15 mins of cutscenes before the game began, but it was worth it.

Crysis 2 is better looking overall. Love playing them with gyro control.

Been playing Splatoon 3.

The single player so far is not as good as the Octo expansion and not as good as the 2nd games solo mode either.

Feels a bit played out. As it's the third time, this series of disjointed floating islands thing isn't interesting anymore.

Towards the end of the Octo expansion they were moving towards what I feel a single player Splatoon experience should be like. With a persistent environment you traversed through, interspersed with epic cutscenes.

There's still fun to be had here and there are tantalising hints of how great a single player Splatoon could be. For instance there's a crab tank level with no time limit.

And suddenly you're rolling about like Samus and rolling up vertical walls.

Multiplayer is fun, though I've only played 3 matches.

Grizzco,  new bosses are cool, I started on a very easy, bland stage though.

Gyro aiming is better than Splatoon 2. I can play one handed now without the grip.

I wonder if Splatoon could benefit from an open world single player that you try to tackle in whatever order youd like. It worked for Halo.

Nightdive is remastering ROTT! I'm very happy to see that. It'll be great to be able to play it with a controller.

I just want something like the training section from Splatoon 2, when you first start the game.

You were in the city backstreets, going inside buildings and back alleys. Construction sites.

When I walk around the hub world of any Splatoon game I feel like the world is so deep for mining.

I'd love an open world splatoon rpg with shooter mechanics, maybe.

Or just a more linear game stacked with set pieces and epic cutscenes.
