I meant local multiplayer. It's going to be kind of hard to play something on the U with my wife and kids and be the asshole who hoards the nifty controller leaving everyone else with shitty wii remotes. Conceptually, though, it sounds like it has some neat potential use. But then again, 3D object manipulation seemed to be like a given back when Elebits was released, and you see how that turned out. Nobody was interested to build upon that.
@GG I can't update my 3DS and download stuff because I don't have a wireless Internet connection.
I sure hope Wii U has XBL and PSN level of online service but I'll need to see and hear more to believe it. If this launches for $299 that be great. What I did a few years back is change ISPs. As long as you aren't locked in for another year or something most give you free wireless routers and it's really simple to configure. Without it I guess you have to go to Best buy to hook it up.
Boom Blox 2 tried then died a quiet death.
Everyone is adopting Wii IR controls for shooters now - at least on PS3 and you are still getting Wii Sports type stuff implemented.
A cheap router could be a potential solution. Or leeching your neighbor's wireless.
Of course Nintendo's investors are not happy with Wii 2....they're used to making insane amounts of money off of old as fuck tech.
Fuck me running....Elder Scrolls 5 is gonna be a blast.
I'm so overwhelmed by all this info, I can't sort through it all like I used to during E3's past. Its going to take me weeks to get to know or see everything I want.
Awesome...so it does have hard drive support, just external. That's great news.
IGN is suppossed to have video previews of two super secret sequels today, anyone notice what they were?
So a 10 minute preview of Batman Year One the movie was out today and Warner Bros clamped down on them like balls in a vice.
I am up to this city gulag level in Black but the disc keeps crashing and saying its dirty or damaged which its not.
I put another 2 hours into GTA San Andreas, I am near 10 hours in and at breaking point. The busta rhymes guy I can bearly understand. The missions have been pretty boring so far, the controls are sloppy, graphics rubbish. I hate the city layout. Hate it.
You know in GTA games the cities are designed so you can go offroad and still find an exit, you can go into a park then out the other side, or up a buildings staircase and round the back etc? San Andreas has walls and fences and dead ends blocking you in all the time. Also couple that up with elevated bridges and those - what are they called? You know the concrete tunnels that divide up the whole city? It's a nightmare to get around in this game.
Shiiiiit those Hitman screens are awesome.
The last few Hitman games have looked much better in screens than they've actually been....though I have liked them all. Hitman 2 is still unmatched. Those screens do look nice.
Is it just me or are all the big games at E3 games we already knew about?
(With the exception of anything Wii U, that is?)
These are just off the top of my head, but were there REALLY any B-I-G surprises?
Out of 44 games I can think of 6 were new to E3!
Halo 4 was a surprise to me.
That's about it.
Either the journalists aren't doing a good job at getting their stories out...
--or--
There's REALLY a lot fewer games than past E3 shows...
--or--
Everyone said "The New Nintendo System is going to be there. Fuck it! We'll just be ignored anyway."
E3 2011 = meh.
Luigi's Mansion 2 has been the only real surprise for me.
Okay, the stupidity of calling it "Wii U" was also surprising, but not in a good way.
What's NOT on my list that was Noteworthy or New?
Anything?
