It's good to hear you're going to read Nietzche--myself, I haven't read much from famous philosophers. I've got a book by David Hume sitting around, but have barely even cracked it. Ethics and morality is the area of philosophy that interests me most, but I also harbor a love for language--the philosophy thereof, as well as its usage and how it interacts with our minds.
I'm also one of those crazy pedant bastards, but there are times when precision of language is important.
The philosophical black mark in my life is that I was with the Objectivists for 1-2 years. If you don't know anything about them and wish to know about Objectivism, let me give you some warning: the philosophy of Objectivism is more assertion and fallacious word games than it is correct or anything profound. Its adherents that I've run into online are either assholes who will defend Ayn Rand to the death or those who simply can't see the fallacious word games. Should the philosophy interest you, tell me so I can inoculate you with some counter websites. And to tell you the truth, the counter websites would be more convincing if they didn't have to clean up the mess that Rand created, often-times involving her equivocations and circular reasoning, ontop of her evidentially unsupported assertions. Meh, enough about this.
Are you into science at all? Even just seeing what's up and not necessarily studying much? I recommend Science Daily, something a friend brought to my attention. It's full of cool stuff! My favorite science is physics, and I've read stuff by Stephen Hawking and Brian Greene... awesome, the things that could come out of theory, and the things that have yet to be explained by theory! Biology is also interesting, but I'm not too interested in the science in general beyond knowing about the concept and processes of evolution. Psychology greatly interests me because of its connection to reasoning and why we believe and think the way we do, especially as it relates to theism and other, similar, beliefs.
I like J-pop, anime, and manga, but I still need to watch and read more anime and manga so I can actually, "legitimately" claim to be a fan.
I mentioned languages, but didn't go into detail about the foreign ones I've studied. I took four years of German in high school and one semester-long course at my university. And I just completed my third Japanese course (which I won't go beyond due to the instructor and interest). My dad says all I need now is Italian and I'll be versed in all the WWII-era Axis powers languages! XD
Phew, did I write all that? Anyway, I hope I gave you some ideas. "Laugh, and grow fat!" ( <-- MGS2 quote FTW)
83% isn't perfect, and neither is 94%!
another area which you make no mention of therefore i don't know whether you're striving to improve in, is being healthy and fit. you must train. any hint of gluttony or sloth is a major weakness as far as i'm concerned (even ... a few extra pounds). also if you can ... be a vegan.
also (knowing some of your politics i know you are in no immediate danger of this) but don't allow the pursuit of excellence turn you into a puritan nazi
i'll probably add more later but let's see how this discussion goes
To become a better Gigalo you need to beef out at the gym. I think protein shake and perhaps a penis enlargement operation.

I already told him to get a penis enlargement.

WRONG!!

Vegan
Meat eater
Result
Meat eater >> Vegan, fact!!

That issue is different from the issue of the morality of veganism in general. I have seen videos of how meat chickens are raised, and I sure don't like it.

Can I fry and eat that egg?

Thank you, GG. You shall be at the right side of the testicle when the time comes.

The right side. Where all the good stuff is I can be born like Galactus, breaking free into a new universe.

Sorry no new universe, when I Fedor breaks the universe it stays broken!

So you are really pitting Fedor against Galactus? Yodas ultimate goal should be to become Galactus.
This obviously requires some explanation. Given the fact that I am the designer of a videogame website, you can imagine I'm not going to be the social-type. Additionally, if you've seen my blog posts, I'm not a fan of religion.
These two attributes can have others looking down upon you, fair or not. Aside from that, despite being a consistently solid student (83% average), one tends to look like crap when compared to a 94% average, which was my sister's high-school average. It doesn't really matter that I consider the educational system fairly broken.
Wanting to be a representation of my own ideals, I have since worked towards becoming without flaw in all other areas.
I've increased my memory and knowledge base significantly by pursuing the elimination of the use of studying in preparation for tests as to learn as opposed to memorize. I've learned much more about music in composition and playing. I've opened myself to a wider array of interests. And I've made myself nearly incapable of performing an act against my own conscience.
The old me never would have bought a dance pad or musical keyboard; would never have watched Azumanga Daioh or Maburaho; would never have created a blog or participated in a podcast; and would never have found Lost at Sea touching nor eagerly awaited the arrival of his order of The Genealogy of Morals by Friedrich Nietzsche.
Yet there's still plenty. Cleanliness isn't exactly a word you'd use to describe me. You'd also find my use of the phrase "play piano" being used rather loosely. And try as I might, I still know very little about anything.
But this would all be quite the silly exercise if I were going to define the parameters of what is considered ideal.
So I open this to you: What should I know? What should I be able to do? What is the ideal?
