There have been some prolonged game droughts on Nintendo's little white console.  What is happening in the last month or so is crazy.  There are so many games being released which I want to check out, to say the least.  But I'm finding myself indecisive in even buying them.  Here's a list of some which come to mind:

1. Silent Hill - Shattered Memories (sorry gg, still haven't got this)

2. Fragile Dreams - Farewell Ruins of the Moon

3. Red Steel 2

4. Endless Ocean 2 (i can really feel the hatred of teh gg now)

5. Tatsunoko vs Capcom (this I actually did buy just before the flood)

and coming just around the corner:

6. Sakura Wars: So Long My Love

7. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle

8. Rune Factory: Frontier

9. Monster Hunter Tri

and I could even include...

10. Super Mario Galaxy 2

11. Sin and Punishment 2

12.  Trauma Team

13.  Metroid: Other M

I won't even bother with the games on the Virtual Console and Wiiware as this list would just get too long but there's plenty of great content there too.  Somehow i'm tempted to wait for all of them to get down to hobo bin price level but then i feel bad because these are all efforts I'd like to show my support for.  Who'd have thought too many good games would be a bad thing

Some games like NMH 2, Little Kings Story and Red Steel 2 have enough 9/10 reviews to be qualified as great. Even Endless Ocean 2 does. Your dilemma is just a taste thing right? Like Monster Hunter 3 looks really high quality but I'm not that interested in it.

Except that NMH2 is not on the same level as GoW3 or Bayonetta. I love action games, NMH is not a great action game (the first, maybe part 2 is better). LKS is all taste. Red Steel 2 is a game I want but its just doesn't interest me as much as the games I get at launch. MH3 is weird, I didn't like the demo that much but I think it doesn't give a good idea of the full game. I just don't like I want to get into a big 100+ hour game right now.

This year seems to mark the coming of age of the system, with a sufficient amount of quality titles almost all across the genre spectrum, and 3rd party efforts that finally rival the 1st party ones regarding quality and polish.

Yeah, I'd pretty much like to play all of those (already have Tatsunoko, though).

Nope, LKS is all 9s and 8s.

(Yes technically there are 3 scores below that. Which you will find with pretty much any high scoring game.)

I meant the decision not to buy it is based on taste. I don't feel the urge to play it, I dont care what it scored.

Ah that makes sense then.

Even if it does mean you have terrible taste. Nyaa

Yeah, I agree. It's hit that SNES/ Dreamcast level of quality (about 30-40 titles that no-one would argue).

and also these are all gamer's games and even though the system will never shake off the "casual" notoriety and get the credit its library deserves, any old time gamer worth their salt would be missing out enormously by ignoring it.

The Wii is getting better games, but it still feels lacking to me because a lot of them really aren't must-have games, but just games I'd like to try, or games I'd get if they're cheaper.

Must-haves for me are:

Metroid Other M (You forgot that!)
Monster Hunter Tri
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Sin & Punishment 2

And later on...

The Next Zelda
Dragon Quest X
